Green comes in all colors.
Cassandra Tondro's paintings are created with an eye for design and a concern about the environment. She uses repurposed acrylic latex paint, also known as house paint, that she rescues from reject shelves before it is sent to landfills. She acquires the paint from the local Household Hazardous Waste Facility and from the mistint shelves at home improvement stores.
The US Environmental Protection Agency estimates that between 35 and 103 million gallons of post-consumer architectural paint are disposed of in the United States each year. By repurposing this discarded paint for her artwork, Cassandra helps to reduce the burden of disposal.
She invites you to explore her original artwork on these pages, and welcomes your inquiries about her techniques, process, custom commissions, and sales of artwork.
