Five Element Paintings

I'm working on a new series of paintings based on the five elements, and these are the palettes I'm using for each element. I haven't yet figured out what to do for the metal element. Metal is silver and gold, which in paint colors translates to gray and yellow ochre. Yuck! Any suggestions appreciated.

well, not sure what kind of paints you're using, but you should be able to mix in some silver pigment or powder and possibly get quite a nice effect...
I'm using acrylic paints, and they do have nice metallics, but I still can't see mixing silver and gold on the same piece. Maybe it comes from the days of antiquity when we were told not to wear silver and gold jewelry together.
In Five-Element acupuncture theory, the color for the Metal element is white. By mixing gold & silver metallic paints you may end up with a darker hue that might appear "muddy". Try introducing a white iridescent paint into your current palette. By the way, I love your work.
