This painting was done in many layers. The first few layers are lifted paint -- where I press something into the paint while it's still wet. On top of that are some silver "bubbles" -- dots made with a yorker bottle, and washed off with the hose before they're completely dry. That gives the outline of dots, or circles. Then there's a blue-green glaze on top of that. The top layer is a red-copper metallic paint, and I threw it onto the canvas to give the spontaneous splash look of water.
I am an artist, living and working in the Los Angeles area. I consider myself to be part "mad scientist," because I'm interested in observing the effects of combining unorthodox materials and manipulating paint in unusual ways.
