Success!

Woo hoo! I finally got the ecoprint process down, at least for Liquid Amber leaves. This first print was done with terrycloth padding, to press the leaves more tightly against the fabric.

This one was done without the padding. It's a very different look.

Both of these pieces were done on cotton. Now that I've got it down, I'm moving on to linen!

Hello Casandra, I have found you trough one of the comments on India. I'am living in Holland. I do like to watch to results and to read about your experiments. I just started my first samples. The link to 'fontainefleurie' is to a blog of our holidayhome in France. You can read about my experiments on my other blog www.dovadi.web-log.nl and see also my memberlink of natural surface. When I have more time I shall read all your other posts (hope more people reading are reading them nowadays). I shall make a link on my blog. greetings Dorie

Hi Cassandra, this liquid amber tree has beautifull leaves - we don't have such a tree here in Holland. btw what is terrycloth padding, I have never heard of it. Is it a kind of glue or does it stiffen the fabric? Looking forward to your other experiments.

Liquid Amber is a type of maple tree, and the leaves turn red in the fall. I don't know if they grow in Europe or not.

Terrycloth is the fabric that towels are made of -- a soft, loopy, thick fabric that absorbs well. I use it when I wrap my fabric around ABS pipe to cushion the fabric and press the leaves into the fabric more.
