One of the flower petals fell off of the banana tree today, and a second bunch of bananas has appeared. I can’t wait until they’re ripe and I can try them!
While waiting for the bananas to ripen, I started on a scarf on my new Ashford SampleIt loom. The SampleIt is an 8″ rigid heddle loom that’s perfect for weaving something long and narrow, like scarves. I can use it on my lap, and I don’t have to lug around my 24″ rigid heddle loom.
That is going to be a beautiful scarf! Seeing bananas grow in your own backyard is so cool! Can you reach them or will it take a ladder to harvest them once they are ripe? It will be interesting to hear if the flavor is any difference than the ones you buy in the store. I am enjoying the progress on your studio build!
The banana plant isn’t that big, and I can just barely reach the bananas.
