Hi Friends,
A few weeks ago I went to an estate sale and came home with two large bags full of yarn. It was fantastic!
It’s fun to have so many different textures, colors and fibers to play with. I got a lot of novelty yarns as well as some luxury yarns made from silk, alpaca and bamboo.
I’m using these yarns to weave scarves on my 8″ rigid heddle loom, and they’ll be available for purchase in the fall, for the holidays. Here’s some of what I’ve created so far.
Fun frilly novelty yarn loosely woven with super soft milk casein yarn.
Nubby rayon novelty yarn and chartreuse silk.
Metalic ribbon yarn and dark brown alpaca.
Mixed fiber novelty yarn and space-dyed rayon chenille.
Fuchsia cotton and puffball novelty yarn.
Pretty wild, huh? I’m all over the map with colors, textures and fiber content, just putting together whatever strikes my fancy and looks like it will be interesting.
I hope you’re having as much fun as I am this summer! What are your summer plans? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please share them with us in the comments section below.
Summertime summertime sum sum summertime

It’s summertime!
With love and appreciation,

Sounds good, Bee! Look forward to seeing you.
What a wonderful explosion of colour in your scarves and in the garden. Redesigning garden this year and fixing exterior of house so we are staying put. In addition I am eco-printing on paper, painting and getting ready for Open Studio Doors in my town Silkeborg, Denmark. Distant lands can wait. So enjoy your newsletters!! Have a productive and healthy summer Cassandra.
Thank you, Janis! Your summer sounds quite full. I like getting things fixed up, though, and of course ecoprinting is always exciting. Enjoy!
