Hi Friends,
My neighbor Rita and I are trying to save a seven-year-old semi-feral cat named Cujo. Cujo was abandoned a couple of years ago, and Rita has been graciously feeding him since.
She called me one night in a panic because Cujo was screaming in pain and she didn’t know what to do. We’d never been able to get him into a carrier before, which made regular vet care impossible.
I rushed over with my top-loading carrier, and before he knew what had happened, I grabbed him by the scruff of the neck, stuffed him into the carrier, and we were on our way to the emergency vet.
I thought it might be kidney disease, because he had gotten so thin and was showing signs of cystitis. But it turned out to be crystals in his urine that were causing bleeding and pain.
There’s a surgery that can be done, but it’s expensive, and then there’s the problem of post-surgical recovery time. Cujo goes absolutely berserk when confined inside, and destroys everything in sight.
So we’re trying homeopathic remedies and dietary changes first, and as of now, he’s doing better.
We could use your help in trying to save him, and I have a special offer for you:
Start your holiday shopping early! Pick up unique handmade gifts at great prices, and help Cujo at the same time. I’m offering 20% off on all of my scarves, necklaces, paintings, and leaf prints through September 20th. Use discount code CUJO at checkout. 100% of the proceeds will be donated to Cujo’s recovery fund.
Thank you for caring about the animals and helping us with Cujo. We are so appreciative of your support. He’s quite a handful, but we love him. And all animals deserve our loving kindness.
