Becoming Alive

Cassandra Tondro, "Emerging Spirit," abstract art

Greetings Friends,

I’ve been hearing this message a lot lately: “Do what makes you feel alive” and “The world is waiting for people who are fully alive.”

The idea here is that we often can’t see the bigger picture or figure out how to fix everything in the world that appears to be broken. But we can do our part to make the world a better place by following our passion and doing what makes us feel alive.

A world full of people who are ALIVE will prosper and be a happier and healthier place. When each of us feels fully alive, we treat ourselves, each other and the planet with dignity, compassion and respect.

It’s not important WHAT you do. What matters is that you care deeply about your work, whether it’s meditation and contemplation, building houses or creating art.

In a recent talk, artist Nicholas Wilton said that people want art that makes them feel more alive, and authenticity is the key to bringing life to art. When your art is a reflection of your unique and authentic self, it will feel alive.

And the same is true no matter what we’re doing. The more we’re able to be our authentic selves in all parts of our lives, the more alive we feel.

What makes you feel alive? I’d love to hear your thoughts. Please share them with us in the comments section below.

P.S. There’s still time to take advantage of the 20% off sale on all of my handwoven and leaf print scarves, necklaces, paintings and leaf prints on paper. Use discount code CUJO at checkout. Offer good through Saturday, September 22nd.
