Hi Friends,
I finished the hand-stitching on the plaid piece I showed you last time, and got it stretched onto stretcher bars. It turned out more cattywampus than I had expected, so I titled it “Cattywampus!”
Stitching through the layers of flannel and the cotton gauze backing was somewhat difficult, and that may have been what distorted the piece. Next time I’m going to try basting the plaid pieces together and only stitching through the flannel. Then I can spray mount it onto a piece of gauze to give it stability.

Thank you to everyone who came out for the Ventura County Handweavers and Spinners Guild show at the Beatrice Wood Center for the Arts in Ojai. The exhibit features over 100 pieces of wall art, wearable art, and even handwoven sculptural art. I snapped some pictures at the opening reception to give you an idea of how it looks.

The show will be up through November 16th, and all of the work is for sale.
Whew! That was a lot. Thanks for reading to the end. What’s up with you these days? I’d enjoy hearing your thoughts. You can share them with us in the comments section below.
With love and appreciation,
Cassandra
