Last of the summer blooms.
Hi Friends,
I’ve been tidying up in the studio this week and finishing loose ends. I had done a stack of playful paintings that were waiting to be turned into greeting cards.
The paintings look like this before I cut them up and paste them onto card blanks.
And these are what the finished cards look like.
That got me thinking about collage cards. What would those look like? So I played around on some sheets of mixed media paper with no plan in mind. I was just using colors to see what it would look like.
Mildly interesting, but it needs more. Maybe some cutout circles.
Better. Maybe cutout circles in bright green and black.
What if I use a black background with bright green circles?
And what if I use bright green AND bright pinks circles?
These are too pretty to cut up! When I crop them for cards, they don’t look as interesting. But I don’t know what to do with them as they are, so they’re sitting on my work table waiting for inspiration.
