I’ve been invited to show my handwoven scarves at The Ebell of Los Angeles holiday boutique in December again this year. Which means I have to get started on weaving now!
It seems early, but it takes time to weave a scarf, and I don’t want to be rushed. I like to take my time on deciding colors and patterns, and carefully weaving the weft so it’s even and tight.
Here are a few of the scarves I’ve finished lately. Click on the images for more information and to see them in a browser.
These first three scarves are collapse weave, meaning that they’re a combination of cotton and wool. When washed in hot water, the wool shrinks and felts and the cotton does not, creating an interesting puckered texture.
